My Background

After qualifying as a professional photographer, I spent the 1990’s working as a press photographer for national newspapers and leading magazines. In that time I was official photographer for The Scottish Parliament, Bank Of Scotland, National Museums Of Scotland, Scottish & Newcastle, Radio Forth and National Galleries Of Scotland. I was lucky enough to travel the world on assignments and have photographed numerous celebrities including Ewan McGregor and Sean Connery.

By 2000, my friends were beginning to get married and pleaded with me to cover their weddings. I found that my photojournalist experience, developed over the years, allowed for a fresh approach to wedding photography. It didn’t take long before I was hooked on the creative freedom of such joyful events. And so, since 2003, I have focused on the world of wedding photography.

My Approach

In that time I have developed a unique and imaginative approach, which has proved extremely popular. That approach allows me to take both spontaneous candid shots as well as groups and portraits without monopolizing the Bride and Groom’s valuable time during the celebrations. I produce considered shots without couples feeling like they are being placed in unnatural or awkward ‘centre-stage’ situations. I am able to capture the whole day, in a creative, modern and non-formulaic way as this also means we have all the elements necessary for the perfect album. My approach is designed so that you can relax and enjoy your special day without thinking about posing - the photographer is unobtrusive and has minimum impact on the proceedings as it should be
